User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars The best produc to cut the dog’s nails
This product is the best, stop bleeding instantly. It’s so easy cut the dogs nails with this product.

5 Stars Kwik Stop - A MUST for EVERY PET OWNER
I have several pets and I have always had this in my medicine cabinet in case of emergencies. It is especially helpful when trimming nails. Follow the instructions. Have someone show you the proper method of nail trimming and hopefully this product will stay on the shelf just incase you need it. When used according to the directions, it does the job.

4 Stars KwikStop is GREAT
There may be the fancy steptic swabs around but the economy and ease of use of this simple powder and a simple Q-tip make it the best buy. The others are one use and out while this provides years of what one would use in most cases. Oh, and it works too.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Works as advertised.
Cuts my beagle/bulldog’s claws very smoothly without cracking them. She doesn’t struggle too much and appears comfortable. Would give 5 stars but I spotted the exact same item at my local Target for ten bucks. I am a little disappointed Amazon got beat price-wise.

5 Stars dog clippers
These clippers appear to be very sturdy and sharp. Easy on my dogs, they don’t flinch when I clip their nails. I would buy them again.

5 Stars (nTn) Woof Woof ! *Dog for its Great*
I have a Blue/White one but it’s the same model. I Love how it has a Styptic powder included cuz we all cut it a wee bit too short sometimes. But I’ve used the guillotine type cutters and they never cut cleanly. But this one cut cleanly and my dogs didn’t even flinch. I think I’m gonna be using this one for a LONG time. At I bought mine at Target for like $9.99 so the price and quality is excellent. I’d recommend it !!

5 Stars Great Clippers
I used them on my American Bulldog and they worked great. Since her nails are clear I don’t ever cut her too short but having the powder for mistakes is great comfort. They feel and work great.

5 Stars Great clippers
The clippers are nice and sharp, which makes our Basset Hound much happier. I do not even think he realizes we are trimming his nails (which are very thick).

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Better than guillotine
More accurate than the guillotine style so my small dog isn’t afraid to have his nails clipped any more. Works great for even my tiny Pomeranian puppy.

4 Stars Works well, but be Careful!!
The Clippers are very sharp and my dog has black nails. I accidently clipped too close the last time I was doing his nail. I felt awful about it, but it wasn’t the clippers fault they are exellent and do their job quickly and easily.

4 Stars Good clippers
The clippers are very good quality my only complaint is that the file is useless and the styptic powder is a mess and really hard to dispense.

5 Stars Very satisfy!
As a first time dog owner, I am extremely satisfied with this clipper. It is sharp and very easy to use on my shih tzu. Each cut is very smooth and precise.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Lightweight & Comfortable
This nail trimmer is lightweight and comfortable in my size medium hand and cuts easily through the nails of my 45-pound dog. I also use it on a 20-pound dog. It’s super convenient to have a stash of styptic right in the handle. It was somewhat difficult to remove the styptic reservoir from the handle to fill it up but easier to remove after that first time.

4 Stars Consistently sharp nail clippers with excellent styptic applicator.
The Bamboo brand Nail clippers are consistently sharp (no split nails, or pinched nerves due to a dull blade) and the nail cuts cleanly, without snapping and pinching that dull blades cause. The ergonomically curved handle has a rubber insert that helps keep a good grip and prevent slipping. This is especially useful when dealing with squirmy dogs.

The removable styptic tube/file and applicator is perfect for using just the right amount of styptic and the applicator is ergonomically designed to fit the shape of a dog’s nail. No mess, no wastage. There is also a small metal nail file on the side of the applicator tube but the cut is usually so clean that there isn’t really a use for it.

For people who tend to get their hand pinched by scissor-style clippers, this style pinches the least. However, the Guilotine-style clippers may work better for you.

The downside to this clipper is that the handle is made of plastic and that it doesnt last long for a grooming salon that handles lots of dogs. For a home user, this should last problem free.

A few improvements for a home user would be the addition of a nail guard for really squirmy dogs and inexperienced owners. (A piece of metal that swings out to prevent cutting off too much nail at once)

All Bamboo brand products come with a small illustrated ‘How to’ guide and this is no exception. Overall an excellent product for both home and limited salon use.

Bamboo also sells replacement styptic applicator tubes/refills that fit into the handles pefectly.

5 Stars Best Nail Clippers Ever!
I would recommend these nail clippers to everyone looking for a cheaper solution to $15 every time you want your dog’s nails clipped!

2 Stars Pinches your hand!
They cut the dogs nails fine but they also pinch the inside of your hand.

2 Stars dog nail clipper
Honestly, I didn’t see whole lot of difference between this clipper and

a less expensive one you would buy at Petco or elsewhere. It worked fine but I am not a groomer so it’s not a chore I feel completely comfortable with no matter what the quality of product I use.

Peticure Power Professional Pet Nail Trimmer

May 5, 2009 by Nail Care · Leave a Comment

Peticure Power Professional Pet Nail Trimmer

Professional grade model for all cats and dogs. 18 v rotary filer is twice the power and 1/2 the size of all other Peticure models. Its sleek design is ideal for the Peticure enthusiast. The Peticure Power includes the Peticure Safeguard.

User Ratings and Reviews

5 Stars Happy for my dog
I have a male Cardigan Welsh Corgi. The nail trimmer is quiet, keeps the nail dust trapped in the cover. I have been using a cordless Dremel tool for 6 years. This is so much better. I have the corded unit. My daughter bought the cordless unit for a large retriever and is equally happy.

5 Stars Best pet product I’ve ever bought
I guess this is either a “love it or hate it” item. I’ve had mine for about a year now and it still works great! The dog is far more confortable with me using this on her that she ever was with a regular pet nail clipper. I would definately buy again!

1 Star won’t back up defective product
Peticure Power Professional

I ordered this through the company - took them 2 weeks to get it to me. The parts didn’t fit - safety cap doesn’t screw in where it should. I emailed twice, couldn’t get a response. Finally called them and I plan to return it. But they won’t pay for the return shipping. Wouldn’t deal with them again. If you really want the product, get it through a reputable dealer which has more clout that lil ol me! If I could have given it no stars in the review, I would have.

1 Star DO NOT WASTE TIME RAISING YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE ON THIS ONE…
I ordered this product even after reading the many negative reviews thinking that maybe it would work for me. Not only did it not grind my dogs nails, but when I had issue after issue with customer service trying to return this product. I have yet to get a refund and at this point don’t even care anymore as long as I never have to deal with this product again!

5 Stars The best way to cut your pet’s nails
I have a great dog with a good temperament. However, to cut his nails and then spend a long time filing them takes a lot of time and patience on both the dog’s and dog parent’s part.

Even with walking outside the nails are still sharp. I saw an ad for the Pedipaws but searching on the internet, it was an offshoot from the Dremel and Peticure.

Not having much experience with these devices, I compared the prices of the 3 models by Peticure. There are three models: The Petite, Elite and Power. The Petite and Elite come with 3 filing bands. The Power which operates through a plug has 20 extra bands, is lighter and 2 times more powerful. Given the fact that bands are $15 for 20, there is no reason to get nothing but the Power model (except for recharging capability).

The 2 sheets that accompany the model are poorly written. You have to refer to the company website to watch the videos on how to operate this. Putting the thing together is not intuitive. More explicit directions would have been better.

You need to remove the plastic ring at the base of the head to attach the guard. You push the lock button to untwist the mechanism to place the drum on the unit.

The noise is a moderate pitched whirring sound. My dog was not frightened by it. There are preset ports that the nail is placed into. Stabilize the pet’s finger and use quick strokes to file the nail. After some awkwardness of the operator, me, I got the hang of it. There are videos on the website to direct you. Dewclaws (at least on my dog’s) were impossible to file. The guard prevents but does not entirely eliminate the possibility of hair getting caught into the mechanism so be careful.

After spending 3 times more effort assembling the unit versus actually using it, I was quite satisfied with it.

If you are concerned about cutting your dog’s nails but want something quicker to use, this is IT! This helps me round out the ’sharp nails’ that I have to deal with when my doggy greets us.

Aside from the stated 4-6 weeks of receiving it from ordering, it was worth the wait.

I highly recommend this item.
